Trendy container bars. Delicious BBQ. Natural swimming holes. Crazy street art.
Austin, Texas is unlike any city I’ve visited, so the Airbnbs here can be pretty cool too… if you know where to look (there are plenty of bachelorette party houses that don’t exactly offer the most luxurious accommodations.)
I spent an afternoon going through all of the Airbnbs in Austin to find the 7 best ones I recommend. They come in all price ranges and guest sizes to make sure everyone can find the perfect accommodation for their needs!
But we booked the accommodation a little late and there was a conference in town so all the good Airbnbs were already reserved and there were literally very few hotel rooms left.
We ended up staying at a (now closed) hotel in downtown Austin and all of us squeezed into a single room. It was cramped to say the least. I loved the easy access to the bars, but if I had to do this trip again, I would find a hip house in Austin with a pool and lots of space for us girls. Something that FEELS like Austin, as opposed to a boring hotel room.
From a unique Airbnb in a tiny home made from shipping containers to a luxurious hacienda mansion and everything in between, these Austin Airbnbs are the best in town!
Guests: Up to 2
Price: $75 per night
Features: This tiny home made out of shipping containers is SUPER cool and funky. (It reminds me of the Shipping Container Bar on Rainey Street – I guess that’s an Austin thing?) It has all the essentials, like a full kitchen, TV, etc., while being the perfect one-of-a-kind experience.
Guests: Up to 2
Price: $105 per night
Features: This funky home is just blocks from all the hip spots in South Congress, one of my favorite places to shop and eat in Austin! The decor is reminiscent of the Alamo, according to the owners, and I love the slightly retro vibe it gives off.
Guests: Up to 2
Price: $69/night
Features: This Airbnb is a condo with fun interior decor (like a neon sign in the living room!) as well as a private pool for relaxing on hot days. It’s not far from downtown and the Texas State Capitol by foot or Uber, but there is parking for guests!
Guests: 16+
Price: $550 per night
Features: THIS is the villa I would have loved to have spent my bachelorette party in. It looks SO chic and has the most unique hacidnea-style decor I’ve ever seen in an Airbnb. The stunning decor details even extend to the bathrooms (you HAVE to see the soaking tub in the master bathroom!!!)
This is one of the few Airbnbs in Austin that allows more than 10 guests, making it the perfect place for your bachelorette party or bachelorette party. OR if you’re traveling with family, because there’s tons of room to spread out.
I mean, just look at how big this private pool garden is… It’s on the other side of Travis Heights, which puts a neighborhood between you and the hotspots of South Congress, so you’ll have to Uber over, but Lady Bird Lake isn’t far away for outdoor recreation! Plus, I’m honestly not sure I even want to leave this Airbnb.
Guests: Up to 8
Price: $352 per night
Features: High ceilings, tons of natural light, a private pool, AND steps from some great restaurants. Since the home sleeps up to 8, it’s a great option for larger groups!
Guests: Up to 6
Price: $250 per night
Features: Past guests rave that this Airbnb looks even better in real life than it does in photos (and they also love the beers waiting for them when they check in!). It’s close enough to Rainey Street and Lake Bird Lake that you can walk to all the best spots in town. I think I’ll stay here with my husband next time we come to Austin.
If you’re visiting with friends (perhaps for a bachelor or bachelorette party) and don’t want to rely on Ubers or drivers, I definitely recommend finding a VRBO within walking distance of downtown or South Congress, since you’ll likely be partying on 6th Street or Rainey Street every night there.
If you have a car or are willing to use a rideshare, you can stay anywhere within Austin city limits and get around pretty well. The Airbnbs or VRBOs in Austin tend to be bigger/better outside of the actual downtown area (e.g. pools, lawns, etc.).
If you have a favorite Austin VRBO or Airbnb that didn’t make the list, please leave a link to it below for everyone to see! If you have any questions about Airbnb or things to do in Austin, leave a comment or DM me on Instagram @fayeshomestyle and I’ll be happy to help!
